ADT Companion Services

"An Industry Leader In Medical Alarm Systems"

ADT Companion Services ADT Companion Services is backed by one of the biggest names in home security, ADT. They are noted for their security system monitoring and also extend the same expertise into the field of medical alert monitoring. Medical alert services can be added onto an existing home security plan with ADT or you can order it independently.

You wear the personal alarm on your wrist or as a necklace. It is functional as long as you are within 300 feet of the base unit. The base unit acts as a two way speaker so when you activate the alarm, you can talk to a trained representative at an ADT call center. Representatives that take medical alert calls have been specially trained in handling medical emergencies.

ADT Companion Services can be installed by ADT and require a year long contract. There is a fee of around $75 to install the unit, a $75 activation fee and the monthly cost is around $30. Current ADT customers and members of AARP can get special discount pricing.

ADT Companion Services units are equipped with back-up batteries that last for 12 to 20 hours so you will be protected during power blackouts.

If the power is out for a long time and the power in your battery drops, ADT will be automatically notified and they will call you or your contact person. The base unit also acts as a temperature monitor and will alert the ADT center if the temperatures in your home are unsafe.

The personal alarms that work with the ADT system are durable and waterproof so they should be worn at all times even when taking a bath or shower. You never know when a fall will occur and as long as you can quickly depress the alert button, help will soon be on the way.

Knowing help is readily available can give you peace of mind. It could even be the difference between living independently in your own home and going to live with relatives or in an assisted living facility. Not only will it make you feel more secure but it will ease the minds of your family members that worry about you living alone.

You don't have to live alone to benefit from ADT Companion Services. An elderly couple or a person that is home alone during the day can benefit as well. Having access to quick help can allow your caregiver to continue working or leave for a few hours to shop or do other things without having to worry about you falling and being alone for an extended time.

Pros

It's good to know that your unit at home is being tested automatically at central monitoring station. With 24 hour support, you can feel at ease knowing every questions you have will be answered. Of course, professional installation available which translates to one less worry.

There are several systems you can choose from, but if you want to feel confident about your choice, then ADT Companion Services would be a good start since they have a good reputation and a lot of experience in the home security and monitoring industry.
