Emergency Medical Alert

Alert One

"Helps Keep Seniors Safe When Home Alone"

Alert One is a medical alarm system designed to keep seniors safe when they are unattended. The medical alarm can be worn on the wrist or as a necklace so it can be readily pushed in the event of a fall or other problem. In addition, there are alarm buttons that can be hung on a wall or any other flat surface. These devices offer peace of mind to seniors when home alone and their families who are away.

The alarms that are worn have been designed with comfort in mind. The pendant is worn around the neck. It is thin and lightweight and hangs from an adjustable neck cord. It can be slipped into a shirt or blouse so no one can see it. The cord is replaceable so it can be changed to one that offers the most comfort and style.

The alarm that is worn on the wrist is positioned on a comfortable lightweight white band but the band can be replaced with a standard watchband for a more traditional look. The alarm itself is a small white rectangle with a large red button in the center that is easy to see and easy to push.

In order to work, there must be a base unit in the home. The accompanying unit has enough power to work in a 600 foot radius so your senior loved one will be able to move around the house and yard and still be protected. More than one button can be used if you have more than one person in the home you want to protect. In addition to the alarms that are worn, Alert One provides wall mount buttons you can place in the bedroom or hallway for those times when the personal help buttons may not be worn.

However, there is no need to remove the Alert One personal alarm. It is waterproof so it can be worn in the shower or while doing chores around the house without concern. Some people will want to remove it occasionally and that is why the back up wall mount buttons are recommended. They easily attach with Velcro and can be moved from place to place. It is recommended to place them in rooms where falls are likely to occur like the bathroom and bedroom.

The base unit of the Alert1 medical alarm works like a speakerphone. There is also a voice extender available that makes it easy to have a voice conversation from any room in the home. The voice extender is useful for seniors living in large homes or multi-story homes. All the senior has to do is press the alarm button and his voice will be transmitted to the call center. In the event the alarm goes off and the call center can't get a voice response they will dispatch help according to the prearranged protocol.

The Alert One medical alarm system is ideal for seniors that need to be left alone because they are just the push of a button away from help. It can give them the confidence they need to stay in their own homes longer. In the event of a problem or emergency, all they have to do is press a button and the call center will respond. After assessing the situation, the call center will send the appropriate help to the home whether it is a relative or emergency services.

Pros

No equipment to buy. No long term contract or cancellation fees. The unit or console is automatically tested every month. No additional charge to monitor spouse.

Cons

No pill reminder or fall detector options.

Conclusion

The Alert1 medical alarm system is affordable and there are no long term contracts or cancellation fees. The alarm buttons must be purchased individually at a cost of under $40 and the cost of monitoring is under $30 per month. That is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
